CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Creative Movement:  This style of dance is for our young dancers (ages 2-5).  Creative movement will encourage self discipline, self-confidence while incorporating coordination, rhythm and basic dance steps.  Children will work on large motor skills, spatial awareness and flexibility.  Dancers are to wear hair tied back and away from face, pink leather ballet shoes, leotard and tights.

Ballet:  Ballet is the basis of all dance styles.  We teach theatrical ballet at Masters.  This allows us to teach our own style of ballet and incorporate classical ballet at the same time.  Dancers will learn technique, terminology, grace, poise discipline and an appreciation for the arts. Dancers will begin class at the barre.  Then move to center floor work and then close the class with across the floor combinations.  Ballet is the most disciplined and important form of dance for all serious dancers.  This class is progressive.  *Dancers may move into the next level with teacher's permission.  Dancers are to wear hair tied back away from face, pink leather ballet shoes, solid colored leotard and pink tights.  Dance skirts are permitted.

Pointe:  This form of ballet is by teachers permission only.  If you are transferring from another studio a written letter from your previous ballet instructor is required.

Tap:  Tap is a fun, fast-paced style of dance that teaches rhythm, counting and coordination.  Early tap classes will cover basic steps and once the concept is achieved the dancer may progress into the next level.  Dancers are to wear hair tied back away from face, black tap ties or pull-on tap shoes, solid colored leotard and black jazz pant that doesn't touch the floor and socks or tights.

Jazz:  In this style of dance, dancers will learn isolations, across the floor and combinations.  Early jazz classes will teach simple routines and then progress into the next level of jazz dance, with more difficult and challenging dance combinations.  Dancers are to wear their hair tied back away from face, black jazz shoes (tan pedini's at Waupun location), any style leotard, tights or socks and skirts are acceptable.

Hip Hop:  This is a very popular form of dance.  Dancers will learn basic street style dance to the more popular music.  Dancers progress at the proper age level.  Dancers are to wear their hair tied back away from face, white tennis shoes that are only used on dance floor (no street shoes), sweat pants, capri style or jazz pants that doesn't reach the floor and tight fitting tank top or t-shirt.  Please use socks.  Please do not buy shoes until classes have started.  Shoe style is subject to change.
